Exactly three weeks past the New Year, I still haven't posted anything on this blog. Call me sluggard, that's fine, I won't evince any enmity towards you for I know it's true. I understand having cough and colds for whole week won't excuse me for dumping this crap for almost two months-and that's why I'm here now trying to make up for what I've done, struggling to write anything just to have my first entry on this Ox's year. Alright, let me check what I got here up on my sleeve, well…two months is quite a long time and I suppose I have enough of the things I would like to share.
Alright I'm not gonna dawdle here 'cause I know this post might cover the whole page so I'll start discussing about the New Year I had. It was an ordinary celebration but a placid (a minuscule number of firecrackers were heard), a healthy (no one in the family is injured) and a blissful one. Adding up to the rapture we're experiencing that night was the fact that we're also welcoming another year of my Uncle's life-it's his birthday and it has been a tradition in the family that everytime this day comes, he is obliged to throw all the coins he has accumulated the whole year (Yahoo!) and besides doing so (as what all the Geomancers would say) will bring a bunch of luck to him. So before the clock strikes 12, me, my brothers and my little sister together with my mother, my cousins and my three nephews, all of us for sure has a good scheme on how to get most of coins to be thrown after midnight. Then we all patiently waited for that moment 'til a tragedy occurred, with just a snap of a finger, darkness was seen all over and there's nothing I could hear except for the common word the multitude has been yelling-" BROWNOUT !!! ". All has gone crazy and then I rushed to my mother and asked "Have you paid our electric bill this month?" in which she furiously answered "Of course", hearing that lulls me a bit for I know we're not the only one who has a murky new year but the entire barangay as well but still annoyed and disappointed.....I just told myself at least we were able to welcome the year on the exact time 'cause the lights were off 10 minutes past 12. But still I'm still frenzied on the idea that the coin-showering party will not happen and so it did....Damn Meralco for not letting me become a peso richer that night....After an hour, the lights were back so I resume eating the feast we had - that incident made me more ravenous than ever!.....Tomorrow morning the coin-showering party resumes and I have managed to grab enough number of coins but adding those altogether would just equal to 38 pesos.....Darn it...5-peso coins were outnumbered by 1-peso ones and I think there's no 10-peso coins thrown that day but I understand, my Uncle is having some financial problems as well...but I'm hoping next year I would see more 10 and 5 peso coins and no more 1-peso coins please..it's not a request it's an order..
